Are Those My Thoughts

Ever had a thought that seemed to have come from nowhere? How about a thought that seemed to have just barged it’s way into your head? Have you ever had a completely inappropriate thought pop into your heard at precisely the wrong time?

I know you’ve answered yes, because this is something that happens to everyone. If the thought is NOT yours, what you do immediately right after the thought comes is of utmost importance and is the difference between needing deliverance and walking in victory.

When a thought that is NOT yours pop into your head, that is what as known in the Bible as a “fiery dart”. It can become an all out attack at times with thoughts being shot rapid-fire and can seem like machine gun fire in your mind.

That is one way that the fire the darts work and is the most obvious that it is an attack. Another way that they shoot fiery darts is more subtle and causes the most confusion and can open doors for spirits of shame and guilt and others. This is when they shoot a dart but they begin the sentence with words that make it seem like it is your thought.

“I wonder if she’s looking at me because she wants to date me”, “Wow, she is really gorgeous”…The first thought and sentence can be the fiery dart, the second is what your flesh can come up with because our flesh is enmity with Yah and just LOVES to work with devils or demons and will just take a fiery dart and just run with it.

Learning if a thought is a fiery dart or your flesh has a process. It takes time and growth in Adonai to be able to recognize what is going on. The good news is that it is definitely doable. The learning curve depends solely on you and how badly you want to get your thought life under control and the steps you take to do it.

Let’s go back to what I said earlier about what you do right after and how important it is. 2 Cor. 10:4-5 is the answer. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through Yah for the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of Yah, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Messiah…”

When my spouse and I got delivered, and Yah showed us the importance of controlling our thoughts, then we were quoting that scripture all day. In the beginning, you will have to quote it quite a lot, but once your begin to understand what thoughts are yours and which are the enemy, then it gets easier and easier.

Remember what Yeshua did when the devil came to tempt him? Three times, He replied “It is written…” this is the key! When the enemy comes and tries to tempt you or attack you in your soulish realm…you come back with what He said…”It is written in 2 Cor. 10:4-5…” and victory will be yours.

Another great idea that Adonai gave us, which we feel will be a blessing to you, is to always crucify the flesh. We actually have incorporated it in our daily morning prayers and it has helped tremendously. You can also subdue your flesh if you feel it rising up and that is something we should all be doing. Subduing the flesh is better than always having to apologize because you’ve said the wrong thing.

So there you have it. Pray and ask Adonai to help you with learning to distinguish your fleshly thoughts which must be subdued, and demonic fiery darts which need to be shut down by quoting the Word. Remember that if the Word is not quoted immediately, this gives the enemy the legal right to engage you even more by occupying your soulish realm or by tormenting you in your mind.

We must stop the onslaught of the enemy against us, because more sins begins in the mind. Fornication, watching pornography and adultery all begin with our thought life and the sooner we can take control of this and conquer it, the less chance the enemy has at getting us to continue going on the path that leads to total destruction.

Pray this out loud right now: Dear Father, Please forgive me for allowing the enemy to control my mind and for allowing my flesh to dictate what I will think, do or say. Please help me to be able to distinguish between what are my thoughts, my flesh rising up or the enemy. I want and desire total victory in this area. Please put the tools into my hands to be able to grow in this area of my life. Thank you Adonai for hearing my cry. Amen.
