Deliverance Prayer From The Spirit Of Addiction
About addiction, according to A More Excellent Way by Dr. Henry W. Wright (p 139) :
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Galatians 5:19
Remember, one can be addicted to almost anything: drugs, alcohol, sex, food, shopping, or anything to distract us from the feelings of being unloved.
Each person is created to know and to receive God’s perfect love. When people have not received true, unconditional love as a foundation, they are always in search of getting a need fulfilled. The need to know God’s love can open us up to look for love in all the wrong places.
This need leaves us vulnerable to the deception of Satan, who seduces us into believing the world offers us a better substitute…
You are saying through your actions that God is not able to meet your needs. Your heart says: “God, I need a fix that You cannot supply. I will get it myself.” Our comfort must be in God, not in people, places or things.
Prayer Of Deliverance From Addictions For The Believer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I stand in faith on the authority I have as a believer in Messiah Yeshua/ Jesus, and as a co-heir to His kingdom. Your Word says that satan has come down with great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time. We know, Adonai, that You are the only Answer. We know that the enemy comes to steal our lives, and to kill and destroy our families.
In the Name of Messiah Yeshua/ Jesus, I bind every evil spirit and every evil plan the enemy has planned to keep me in this addiction.
Your Word says that You have plans for good and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11) for me and I claim this plan for my life right now. You have given me all authority through Messiah Yeshua/ Jesus to execute this judgment on the forces of satan (Psalm 149:5-9). Your Word says that the adversaries of the Adonai shall be broken in pieces, and in Your perfect timing, You will bring salvation, restoration and healing to me (Samuel 2:10).
O Abba/ Father, with each new day, help me to be strong and continue to trust You. Bring into my eyes and heart an honesty that sees my true situation. Please help me find strength in Your goodness and guidance. I declare release from the spirit of addiction and receive my renewed joy in living from this day forward (Psalms 21:1-3)!
Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You. Cleanse my mind of all darkness and fill it with love and light. Almighty YHWH, You sent Yeshua/ Jesus to set the captives free (Isaiah 61).
I know Your power and I know Your might. I ask that You deliver me from all addictions and bondages that have kept me from being and doing my best. In the mighty Name of Yeshua/ Jesus, I declare in accordance with Matthew 16:19-20 that You have given me the keys to the kingdom and whatever I bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.
I now speak to all hindering spirits and I command the spirit of addiction and all those demons associated with this strongman to leave me NOW in the mighty Name of Messiah Yeshua/ Jesus. In accordance with Yah’s/ God’s judgment of the angels, (Jude 1:6) I command you to go to the abyss and wait for your final judgement. I renounce and reject you and will no longer work with you.
I ask, Abba/ Father, that You break every curse placed on me that has been causing addiction. I know, Adonai, that You, and only You, can and will deliver me from this evil. Help me to arm myself with strength and hope. Help those around me to give me sound and godly advice. I believe in this miracle of freedom, because Your Word says in Psalm 149:5-9 that You are my deliverer. Heavenly Father, I ask that You send Your angelic warriors to drive back this stronghold of addiction. To You be the Glory. In Yeshua’s/ Jesus’ Name I pray,
AMEN.
